Outcomes

You are all shooting away, and I can see your work developing quickly. Take a minute to review the outcomes of Research Development (these are all in your subject guide, which I suspect gets filed without reading!):

Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcome 1

Identify the areas of research relevant to the commercial interests.

Learning Outcome 2

Develop a primary research plan and methodology that addresses the chosen research area.

Learning Outcome 3

Research the various ideologies that have impacted on the historical use/development of their chosen research area.

Learning Outcome 4

Demonstrate an understanding of links between various theoretical approaches, including aesthetic, cultural, social and ethical.

Learning Outcome 5

Demonstrate consistent and proper use of referencing methodologies.

Learning Outcome 6

Present research findings in a professional manner.

So - HOW are we going to achieve them?   The final product for this class will be a printed hard copy REPORT, the content of which, if you do as I say, will all be generated from your blog(s).

Learning Outcome 1: the areas of research here refer to what area you nominated to work in this semester - fashion, portaiture, composite images etc...

Learning Outcome 2:  You will develop a research plan as your next task - this is not set in stone, so you can review and modify it.

Learning Outcome 3:  You are continuously looking at other photographers, artists, ideas, methods - all this  is the context for your research area. Ensure you DOCUMENT your research as you do it!

Learning Outcome 4: As you reflect and blog about your research, think about how it is relevant to your own work and compare the different photographers/ strategies - this is how you make theoretical links.

Learning Outcome 5: you know how to do this - if in doubt use the CIT reference guide which can be downloaded here.

Learning Outcome 6: The final report - clearly written, properly referenced and professional.
